SB. Cracker Barrel Rolls Out Strict New Dining Rule After CEO’s Departure

No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont is opening up about a recent health diagnosis.

In a video shared on Instagram on Saturday, April 11, the 58-year-old musician revealed that after experiencing symptoms for “a number of years,” he has been diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease.

“I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, and I did a whole bunch of tests,” he said. “It’s been a struggle. It’s a struggle every day.”

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects movement.

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, the condition occurs when nerve cells in the brain weaken, become damaged, or die. This leads to symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, slowed movement, and problems with balance.

As the disease advances, it can make everyday activities increasingly difficult, including walking, and completing routine tasks.

“The good news is, I can still play music,” Tom Dumont added ahead of No Doubt’s 18-show residency in Las Vegas. “I can still play guitar—I’ve been doing really well.”

As he looks ahead to the band’s upcoming run of shows from May 6 to June 13, the musician has been channeling his energy into preparing for the performances, which will mark a major milestone as Gwen Stefani becomes the first female headliner at the venue since it opened in 2023.

While reflecting on the decades he’s spent doing what he loves, Dumont also shared that he felt motivated to open up about his diagnosis after seeing others speak publicly about their own health challenges. He believes that sharing these experiences can help break down stigma, increase awareness, and ultimately support prevention efforts and ongoing research.

“It’s kind of made me think about how grateful I am for the life I’ve gotten to lead as a musician all these years,” he added. “And it’s thanks to our families and our friends and listeners and you and everyone who’s come out to shows over the years.”

No Doubt is a Grammy-winning rock band formed in California in the late 1980s, known for blending ska, punk, and pop influences. Fronted by Gwen Stefani, the group rose to global fame in the 1990s with hits like “Don’t Speak,” “Just a Girl,” and “Spiderwebs.”
